Hi, I am Shilly Elizabeth David from India. I am here in Germany for my doctoral studies. I had completed my masters degree in Fisheries Biology and Aquaculture from Kerala, India. After my masters I had a very keen desire to do my doctoral degree in Germany because there are many world famous universities and the laboratories here had all the new and sophisticated technologies. I applied for the DAAD Scholarship and I was lucky enough to get that. I will be doing my doctoral studies in Centre for Tropical Marine Ecology, Bremen from October 2009. Before staring my doctoral studies I was supposed to do a four months German Language Course which is in EURASIA-Institute, Berlin. In my class there are many students from different parts of the world, with different culture and the common thing in us was we were learning German all the same like small children’s. By the first 2 months I am now able to pick up some words and make sentences. Now I am confident enough that I will learn more and speak more fluently in the coming 2 months. In Eurasia, I got a great help in staring an account in Deutsche Bank and in the Visa extension process. Mr. Tom helped a lot in these process. It would had been very hard for me if I had done for my own. Tom helped a lot in filling up the Visa form. The Deutsche Bank officials personally came to the Institute and by that I could start my account without much effort which was all arranged by the
EURASIA-Institute.
