![]() Cilia-Yasam Dittberner has been a Teacher of German as a Foreign Language at the EURASIA Institute since August 2008. She studied New German Philology, German as a Foreign Language and Comparative Literature at the Technical University in Berlin. She developed a deep interest in the conflict between language and communication early on, when she worked for several years as a private tutor in a bilingual, Turkish/German club for school children and local residents. There, she ran specific training sessions on focal points in phonetics and grammar, and through her rapport with the Turkish children and young people, imparted to them the joy of working with the German language. She independently developed and organised a youth project in German as a Foreign Language, for migrants in the 10th school year, to boost their knowledge of speaking and language conventions, and to improve their presentation skills. Both German as a Second Language and German as a Foreign Language give her the opportunity to accompany people from all nations on their paths, opening new doors for them through language. This not only affords her great enjoyment, but also motivates her to work together with people on a common intercultural foundation. |
