Global solutions for effective communication
Intercultural training for public authorities

The EURASIA Institute offers intercultural training for public authorities, integration associations and advice bureaux. The seminars and training are primarily aimed at German staff who come into contact with foreign immigrants from the Arab and Chinese parts of the world.

The seminars on intercultural awareness-raising in dealings with immigrants from the Chinese and Arab worlds are entitled Chinese and Arab Cultural Norms.

The seminars provide a grounding in the Chinese and Arab cultures. They include perspectives on intercultural problems both from a Middle Eastern and a Far Eastern standpoint.

The seminars look at situations where intercultural clashes can occur between Chinese and Arab immigrants on the one hand, and on the other, with German public authority staff. Everyday irritations and misunderstandings, which can render both parties helpless and unable to communicate, are analytically and self-critically examined.

The focus is on overcoming cultural stereotypes. The seminars encourage participants to have an open attitude towards their own and foreign cultures.

The intercultural EURASIA seminars and training impart country-specific knowledge, theoretical groundwork and solutions for intercultural problems. With increasing globalisation and the rise in the number of immigrants in Germany, there is now a growing need for intercultural communication and behavioural competencies.

With our range of seminars we hope to make a contribution to the intercultural debate in German society.
