Global solutions for effective communication
Location

The institute is located in a trendy and multi-faceted district in the heart of Berlin with an impressive outlook over Potsdamer Platz and ideally situated for public transport links.

In the vicinity is a network of underground (U-Bahn) and overground trains (S-Bahn) as well as bus routes. You can take the U1 and U7 to Möckernbrücke underground station, the U2 to Gleisdreieck, and the U6 to Mehringdamm. You can also take the S1, S2 and S25 to Yorckstraße S-Bahn station or Anhalter station. The M29 bus also stops at Anhalter station, and the 248 bus stops right on Obentrautstraße.

Very close by is the Technical Museum and Großbeerenstraße, a street which provides a good infrastructure of services with its small shops, restaurants, bakeries and cafés. Right opposite the Institute is a large recreation and leisure park.

Depending on which direction you head off in, within 10 minutes you can be at the ultra-modern Potsdamer Platz, or in the charming Bergmannstraße neighbourhood with its characteristic, original historic stucco buildings and antique shops

Potsdamer Platz has much to offer in the way of shopping and wining & dining, as well as education, entertainment and culture, with its cafés, restaurants, shops and shopping centres, theatres, multiplex cinemas, discos, as well as the Berlin Staatsbibliothek (Berlin National Library) and the Philharmonic. What is more, it is the hub of the internationally renowned annual film festival, the Berlinale.

The Bergmann neighbourhood is on a level pegging with Prenzlauer Berg and Simon-Dach-Straße (in the Friedrichshain district) in terms of trendiness and is right at the top of the list of ‘must-see’ places for tourists in Berlin. Bergmannstraße, and the streets leading off it, are very popular both with visitors to Berlin and locals, thanks to the numerous cafés, bars and restaurants, small shops and the renovated historic Market Hall. In terms of cuisine, you will find everything you could dream of here: Japanese, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, French, Italian, Greek, Austrian and last but not least … German.

The street festival “jazzt!” has taken place in the Bergmann neighbourhood every year since 1994. This is one of Berlin’s major festivals, with over 300,000 visitors, five music stages and over 50 bands. The annual procession at Whitsun – the Carnival of Cultures also takes place in the close vicinity of our Institute.
