Instead of strict learning by rote, students are encouraged to speak individually. The central focus of the lessons is communicative learning. Our classes are international, which ensures that our students also communicate in German with each other .
Our German courses are aimed at pupils at all levels of competancy. We offer courses for beginners as well as advanced. Initial placements are made by means of a test and a one-to-one conversation with one of our teachers. The classes are small and international, with between 7 and 12 participants on average.
Fun and motivation are the most important things in learning a language. Our Summer Camp programme offers numerous opportunities to learn the new language, as well as experience it first-hand, and speak it.
During the breaks and after class, a sports room is available for pupils to use, in addition to the common rooms. Here, you can play table tennis, table football and darts. We also organise a small tournament every month, with a prize-giving ceremony afterwards.
In our computer room, pupils can work on the computer after class and surf the internet free of charge. Our small library is the ideal place for pupils to study, read and chat to other pupils.
In addition, internet access is also available from laptops, as we have Wi-Fi access installed for the whole institute, which is free to all pupils.
The chill-out room, right by the entrance of our Institute, is the central meeting point for our pupils. The comfy sofa is perfect for relaxing or chatting to classmates.

After class and a short lunch break, the EURASIA team mentors organise the afternoon's activities with our language pupils. The afternoon programme consists of a well-balanced mix of sightseeing in Berlin (e.g. museums, Berlin Wall, the zoo) and social activities, such as going to the cinema, games afternoons in EURASIA-Institute, or picnics followed by volleyball tournaments in the park. Not forgetting, of course, our weekly visit to the disco. Any entrance fees must be paid for in advance by the students themselves.
At the EURASIA-Institute, we place great emphasis on interaction between pupils. That is why many of our activities encourage communication between classmates, stimulating an interest in intercultural exchange. It is not uncommon for lasting friendships to develop, which continue long after the time spent at EURASIA-Institute.
Our Institute is situated in the heart of Berlin, directly opposite the famous Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche). Our central location and excellent connections with the transport network make the EURASIA Institute an ideal starting point for excursions in and around Berlin.

Every weekend, the EURASIA team take the pupils on a full-day excursion. We meet in front of the EURASIA-Institute in the morning and go from there by train to our planned destination. The excursions take us to a wide variety of places: e.g. city sightseeing, trips on steam boats, a visit to a theme park, a kayak tour on a river, or swimming in the Baltic Sea.
The cost of train travel and any entrance fees must be paid for in advance of the trip by the pupils themselves. The EURASIA team takes care of food and drink on the trips - although everyone is responsible for bringing their own small snacks along with them.
Kayaking trips and visits to the Baltic Sea are great favourites with our students. For the kayaking, we go to the Spreewald, a region which lies to the south of Berlin and is famous for its numerous small canals, which are perfect for exploring by canoe or kayak. The water is very calm, making it relatively safe to take a canoe out on. Nevertheless we still require parental consent for all children under the age of 16.
The same applies to visits to a swimming pool or to trips to Warnemünde beach on the Baltic coast. On this excursion, we spend the day at a picturesque coastal town, about three hours by train from Berlin.
In order to provide our students with the best environment for language learning, we offer accommodation with a German host family. What has been learnt in class can be applied straight away in conversation with the host family, and in addition, students can thereby gain a good insight into German culture.
Host Families come in all shapes and sizes: in addition to the classic family of two parents and children, we also have single parents with children, and sometimes parents whose children have already left home.
The students normally stay in double rooms in the house or flat of the family and have breakfast and dinner served by the family. For lunch we have an arrangement with a cafeteria close to the Institute which has a couple of menus to choose from.
For groups, accommodation is organised in shared or single rooms in a youth hostel. Here we have a special arrangement with the Studentendorf Schlachtensee eG, which is situated in the south of Berlin. It is close to a beautiful lake, where lots of local young people go swimming or sunbathing on the beach.
The Schlachtensee student village offers lots of facilities for young people. There is a fitness room, a bar and cafeteria, laundry, a computer room and a TV room. Students also have the option of cooking their own meals in the kitchen. Breakfast is generally offered by the hostel.
