In 2004 the EURASIA-Institute founded a joint venture with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi, Vietnam along with selected German universities.

With the project we are pursuing our aim of raising awareness in Vietnam of Germany's increasing attractiveness as a place to study, and to recruit qualified Vietnamese students for German universities and technical universities.

Our emphasis is on an exacting and strict selection of qualified Chinese graduates of Bachelor's degrees from well-known Vietnamese universities. The graduates must fulfill stringent criteria in order to qualify for the strict selection process for Master's degree studies in Germany. In addition they must successfully complete an individual or group interview at the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) in the German Embassy in Hanoi.

The German language course (A1 to C1) preparing students for study in Germany and the course preparing students for the TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language) take place at the EURASIA Institute. The TestDaF is taken in our partner institution in Berlin.

In the medium and long term, we plan to successively involve further Vietnamese and German universities in the project.
