Weekend Excursions

Every weekend, the EURASIA team take the pupils on a full-day excursion. We meet in front of the EURASIA-Institute in the morning and go from there by train to our planned destination. The excursions take us to a wide variety of places: e.g. city sightseeing, trips on steam boats, a visit to a theme park, a kayak tour on a river, or swimming in the Baltic Sea.

The cost of train travel and any entrance fees must be paid for in advance of the trip by the pupils themselves. The EURASIA team takes care of food and drink on the trips - although everyone is responsible for bringing their own small snacks along with them.

Kayaking trips and visits to the Baltic Sea are great favourites with our students. For the kayaking, we go to the Spreewald, a region which lies to the south of Berlin and is famous for its numerous small canals, which are perfect for exploring by canoe or kayak. The water is very calm, making it relatively safe to take a canoe out on. Nevertheless we still require parental consent for all children under the age of 16.

The same applies to visits to a swimming pool or to trips to Warnemünde beach on the Baltic coast. On this excursion, we spend the day at a picturesque coastal town, about three hours by train from Berlin.
